What to Expect

Care begins with a conversation.

Common Questions

First-visit FAQ

These answers can help you book with more confidence. If you have a question about your personal health or whether massage is appropriate, contact the center or your healthcare professional before scheduling.

How do I know which service or therapist to choose?

Start with your primary goal—such as focused tension relief, relaxation, recovery, nervous-system support, lymphatic care, or prenatal comfort. The service and therapist matcher will suggest a strong starting point based on your selections. Your therapist can still adjust the session after speaking with you.

What happens at the beginning of my appointment?

Your therapist will review your goals, relevant health information, pressure preferences, and any areas you want addressed or avoided. You will have time to ask questions before the hands-on portion begins.

What should I wear, and do I have to undress?

Wear comfortable clothing to the appointment. For table massage, you may undress only to your comfort level. You remain professionally draped, and only the area being worked on is uncovered.

How much pressure will my therapist use?

Pressure is personalized. Tell your therapist whether you prefer gentle, moderate, or deeper work, and speak up at any time if you would like an adjustment. Effective massage does not require you to endure pressure that feels unsafe or overwhelming.

Which session length should I choose?

A 60-minute session works well for general relaxation or focused attention to a few areas. A 90-minute session allows more time for full-body care plus focused work. A 120-minute session offers the most time for detailed therapeutic work and an unhurried pace. Available lengths vary by service.

Can I receive massage while pregnant?

Awakened offers prenatal massage adapted for pregnancy. Share how far along you are and any pregnancy-related concerns when booking. If you have a high-risk pregnancy or have been advised to limit massage, consult your healthcare professional first.

When should I postpone my appointment?

Please reschedule if you have a fever, contagious illness, vomiting, or another condition that could affect your safety or the health of others. For a recent injury, surgery, blood clot concern, or significant medical condition, seek guidance from an appropriate healthcare professional before massage.

What should I do after my massage?

Return to your normal routine at a comfortable pace, drink fluids according to your usual needs, and notice how your body responds. Your therapist may offer simple, individualized suggestions based on the session.
